About Us

Firehouse Guitars and Music is a family-owned business in Decatur, GA owned by Eric and Lori Murphy. Our store opened in November 2005 and has become a regional favorite for music gear, guitar repair, instrument & pro audio rentals and lessons currently serving music students throughout the Decatur and metro Atlanta areas.


Some of our sales staff and teachers at Firehouse Guitars and Music have worked for the store for over a decade, providing customers with experienced service and someone to contact with questions about products, music lessons, instrument repair and rentals. We also enjoy connecting aspiring musicians together through our ensemble program the Academy of Music Performance program (AMP) and starting kids off with fundamentals through our WeeJam music and movement program. For individual lessons we have experienced music teachers who love to share their passion with their students! You can often find us or our teachers out and about in the community at a variety of performances, recitals, and benefit shows performing the music they enjoy.

Eric and Lori have been a part of several musical groups over their past two plus decades in Atlanta playing guitar and bass. They can be seen currently playing with Memphis recording artist The Squirrelheads around town. We hope to see you out and about!
