How long has the store been around?
Firehouse Guitars & Music has been a music store in Decatur, GA and an integral part of the Atlanta music community since the early 2000s. The Decatur, GA location opened in 2005 and moved just around the corner in January 2023. We previously operated a second store in Conyers, GA, which was consolidated into our Decatur location in 2017.Where is the store located?
Firehouse Guitars & Music is located in the Medlock Park area of Decatur, GA (inside the Atlanta metro). Our address is 612 Medlock Road, in the plaza at the 6-way intersection of Scott Boulevard, North Decatur Road, and Medlock Road. We’re next to Piedmont Urgent Care, PetSmart, and Melton’s App & Tap.What services does Firehouse Guitars & Music offer?
Firehouse Guitars & Music offers music gear, PA rentals, band & orchestra rentals, guitar repairs, drum tuning and repair, and private music lessons in guitar, bass, drums, keyboard/piano, voice, mandolin, banjo, and ukulele. Our staff are experienced musicians who can help you choose gear or dial in your setup. You can shop in-store or browse our full inventory online for pickup or shipping.
Can you repair the old guitar in my attic?
Yes! Firehouse Guitars & Music is one of the best places for guitar repairs in Decatur, GA. We really enjoy bringing old treasures to life and can also repair mandolins, banjos, ukuleles, and most other fretted stringed instruments. We can also tune your drums! Bring your instrument by any time!
What kinds of things do you rent?
Firehouse Guitars & Music rents PA systems and a wide variety of musical instruments in Decatur, GA. Whether you need a guitar, bass, keyboard, drum kit, or other gear for a gig or event, come see what you can try out!
Do you provide band and orchestra rentals?
We do! Through our partnership with Music & Arts, Firehouse Guitars & Music offers band and orchestra rentals for school programs and individual players. Saxophones, clarinets, violins, violas, cellos, flutes, trombones, trumpets — you name it, we can help you get it.How do I sign up for music lessons?

Our music teachers at Firehouse Guitars & Music come from a wide range of backgrounds. All have played as professional musicians and also have many years of teaching experience. They are passionate instructors and will meet students where they are, ensuring they stick with their instrument. Who shops at Firehouse Guitars & Music?
Everyone from beginners to seasoned musicians shops at Firehouse Guitars & Music. Our customers include first-time players, students taking lessons, working musicians, and Grammy Award-winning artists. Thanks to Atlanta’s film industry, we also see the occasional celebrity including a man from whom you might just be six degrees separated, who once stopped in to purchase a skull shaker and capo. (We no longer sell the skull shakers, but have plenty of other shapes. And we have plenty of capos!)
Does Firehouse Guitars & Music have a rewards program?

Who owns Firehouse Guitars & Music?
Firehouse Guitars & Music is owned by Eric and Lori Murphy who pioneered the construction of the Decatur location in 2005 and purchased the store in 2009. They live only 2 miles away and love the neighborhood and community. Their sons have taken many lessons and spent many days running around the store! Read more About Us.
